The Fair Housing Working Group, called together by the Connecticut Department of Housing and members of the Housing Committee of the State Legislature, have been meeting over the past several months to develop a platform of proposals to increase access to affordable housing across Connecticut. This legislative breakfast will be an opportunity to hear about the committee’s thinking from members of the working group.
The Fair Housing Working Group Proposal Includes:
-Technical changes to CGS, Sec. 8-2 to promote clarity of the state’s policy goals for municipal zoning authority,
-Creation of a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) planning task force,
-An act concerning inclusionary zoning and local governing boards,
-Expansion of public housing authority jurisdiction, and
-A proposal to conduct a housing affordability impact analysis.
