Putting together multifamily housing project financing is an art unto itself! So many pieces of the puzzle must fit exactly right. Adding green/energy efficient construction or rehab to the mix can feel like it’s more complicated than it’s worth. This training session will provide a discussion and “how to” of project financing with green built in. We’ll start with an overview of project financials, capitalization rates, private-lender underwriting, tax benefits and credits and will illustrate how to add solar, benchmarking existing properties, financing passive housing, etc. Case studies will be presented by developers who have successfully obtained financing for their green and passive house projects. Training content will include: Overview of project financing; The art of green financing; When architects, construction managers and others should be brought in to develop your financials; and What a successful package looks like.
