First Kent and now on to Bridgeport! Join us for a first-hand look at affordable housing and community development in the city of Bridgeport. These housing field trips are designed for developers, advocates and service providers who are interested in expanding their understanding of Connecticut’s diverse housing landscape. The field trip will start with a tour of Milestone Apartments, located in Bridgeport’s East End. The apartments are a mixed-use three-story development that includes 30 affordable one bedroom apartments, 10 units for veterans, an Early Learning Center and on-site case management and social services. Following the tour, participants will have an opportunity to engage in an informative conversation with three housing leaders who will provide a glimpse into affordable housing and community development as it relates to the Bridgeport area. The visit will conclude with a discussion on how emerging leaders can prepare for advancement within the housing field.
