Ending youth homelessness is possible, but it requires a coordinated community and statewide effort. Youth and young adults that are experiencing homelessness often face numerous obstacles to obtaining housing security and are especially vulnerable to trafficking for sex and/or labor, physical abuse, criminal justice involvement, illness and suicide. Most are couch surfing or staying with others for short periods of time. This presentation will provide an overview of the statewide effort to address youth homelessness across CT and progress to date. Speakers will share updated data on youth homelessness and opportunities to be engaged in the work to prevent and end youth homelessness.
