The William Clark Thread Mill was officially given its Certificate of Occupancy on October 24, 2016. The rehabilitation of the former dilapidated mill and hazardous site successfully demonstrates how affordable housing and historic preservation can be combined to create quality housing and enhance the vitality of the surrounding neighborhood. The historic mill parallels the Pawcatuck River and affords beautiful views to the north and south toward Narragansett Bay. In June, we invite you to tour the property and learn about affordable housing and historic preservation requirements. Opportunities and challenges, obstacles to be overcome, are turned into design solutions that create unique living spaces that have both warmth and character.
