On April 19th, the Connecticut Housing Coalition’s Emerging Leaders Network will be hosting their annual “Generations Workshop.” These workshops are designed to bring together long time veterans of the housing industry and young professionals with the goal of fostering new ideas and forging new relationships. Our 2015 workshop left many attendees wondering what more we could do as professionals to build a “movement” around addressing the housing needs in our state. This year’s workshop aims to build off this question, and explore “What’s Next?” for housing in CT. We will explore innovative approaches to funding, design and policy that will shape the future of our industry. This workshop will start with a panel presentation from leaders within the housing industry who will challenge us to think outside of the box on how we build affordable housing in our communities, followed by an opportunity to share ideas on this theme with fellow policy makers, developers, and advocates that will be in attendance. The workshop will end with “Speed Dating” – back by popular demand – providing emerging leaders the opportunity to connect with experienced professionals in the field.
